Supportive Therapies

Electrical muscle stimulation- Tens, E-stim, Interferential and Micro Current use electrical current to cause a single muscle or a group of muscles to contract. Along with increasing muscle function, the contraction of the muscle also promotes blood flow to the area that assists in healing, calms the nerve conduction velocity by depleting acetylcholine, and releases endorphins.

Ultra Sound- A great therapy for acute injuries to move inflammatory fluid like swelling from the damaged tissues. Using sound waves that are tightly compressed and then pulsed, the fluid is able to be moved around for drainage. When the sound wave is continuous, ultra sound provides a deep heating affect.

Intersegmental Traction- this effective chiropractic therapy induces a table with rollers that passively induce motion into the spine for stretching spinal joints and increasing mobility. Intersegmental traction helps to gently and effectively reestablish normal range of motion to your spine.

Ice/Heat- Classic front line defense against inflammation. We use ice and heat to combat stiffness, pain, and swelling.
